STARS Overview:
New digital strategies are essential to empowering students to succeed
in our rapidly evolving digital world. The STARS
workshop teaches students how to manipulate technology in order to become
more successful at school. Although the
techniques learned in the hands-on interactive lessons are centered on
helping students study more efficiently, these
techniques will surely become lifelong learning skills. The course is
built around an educationally entertaining,
interactive hyperstory Dr. Wiley Makes Sense helping students learn foundational
study strategies related to sensory modality preferences. Participants
will learn a variety of new study skills with the latest digital tools.

- Built around the cognitive styles (visual, auditory, and kinesthetic).
- Learn to study with your style, turning at least three strategies
into habits.
- Learn to read twice as fast on screen in less than two minutes
with better comprehension.
- Learn to use a digital note-taking program.
- Learn from top trainers, many of them university professors.
- Learn to study according to your matthew effects and circadian
rhythms.
- Every student (and parent) receives an individualized digital
map identifying learning preferences and recommendations.
- No homework is given.
- Free in-services are offered to parents and teachers to support
students as they use these strategies.
